Hello Readers!!! I have begun work on my first sequel ever! It's feels strange returning to old characters, wondering where they would be in the future, what mischief, mayhem, and love they would be falling into. Aisling's Field's life just wasn't over for me yet, and I feel there is more to the story. So, in honor of her free preview coming up on Wednesday, here is the prologue to the sequel to Aisling's Field, thus far untitled.
Prologue
It was the flames I feared the most. The color of night, dark black fire devouring everything in it's path. The smell of ash and smoke enveloping my lungs, choking me. The darkness I feared so much crushing me with every flicker of black.
The trees, once so soft, so fragrant, now covered by a gray tarry ash, sticky to the touch. The beauty that once reigned here now gone, abolished by this sickening plague of black flames. The clouds above threatening, covering the vibrant blue that once filled the skies above.
Silence. Not a sound, not a noise. Nothing. Just flames, darkness, and fear. As though I was in a silent movie. The sound of the deaf, the music of death.
“MOR!” I screamed through the silence, my voice piercing the dark flames. “MOR!”
Nothing. No return to my cries. Was he, too, now part of the fire, eating his homeland, destroying what once was my beautiful fantasy world of my dreams. Was he, my past love, part of my soul forever, gone?
“MOR!” My shouts were futile as the flames rose, leaving nothing besides darkness in it's grips. Soon, I too, would be nothing more than ash. I could feel deaths cold grip against my the back of my neck as I cowered to the ground, holding on to the me that felt so lost against the darkness.
And then....
I woke up.
So, what do you think readers? Will you be excited for a sequel? Expect new drama, new love triangles, and new craziness in this book. Will Aven end up with Tate, Mor, or maybe even the new guy Ash? Hmmm...even I am not sure yet. As always, dear birdies,
